FOUL FEELINGS

THIS SHOW WON’T SAVE YOU. BUT YOU WILL SAVOUR IT.

MAXUS101 opens the autumn season 2025 with Foul Feelings – a group exhibition where vulnerability, restlessness, and raw emotion are not hidden but celebrated as sources of strength and presence.

At the heart of the show stands Kevin Westenberg (US) with a previously unseen work: a 107 × 157 cm black-and-white collage created in 2025, based on his iconic photographs of D-A-D in drag — shot in a makeshift backstage area on the outskirts of Copenhagen in 2011.

The 40 analogue negatives capture the band in the moment between transformation and presence — in a space where intimacy and attitude coexist.

Westenberg’s piece forms part of a larger visual collage created by 18 international contemporary artists – both emerging voices and established names – where each work contributes to a shared language for what we are usually quick to reject: the uncertain, the porous, the real.
